#WhatNext – Why you should book a minicruise in 2018

For the history buffs and the dancing queens, the city-breakers and the party-planners, whatever your holiday style you’re sure to find a minicruise that’s just right for you. Pack all of the style and relaxation of a longer trip at sea into just a few days, with all of your transport, accommodation and entertainment planned for you in one cost-effective package. So whether you’re looking to explore Europe’s most exciting cities, solve a murder mystery or catch one of the year’s brightest events, here’s why you should book a minicruise in 2018.

What is a minicruise?

A minicruise works just like a traditional cruise, but it takes place over a few days rather than weeks. The price includes everything you need to enjoy your holiday, including two nights in one of our recently refurbished cosy ensuite cabins, basic toiletries, towels and linen. Of course, it also includes two evenings of fantastic entertainment – choose from one of our two onboard cinemas, a variety of live performances and even a casino.

What happens on a minicruise?

You’ll spend two overnight crossings on the ferry, then a day exploring your chosen city. Most of our minicruises are designed for foot passengers, so there’s always a coach waiting to take you to your destination – but there are also options to take your car on some of our minicruises. If you’d prefer, you can also choose to extend your stay with a few nights at a hotel of your choice.

What types of minicruise are there?

Our regular minicruises offer short city breaks to Holland. You can currently choose between Amsterdam, The Hague, or Rotterdam, but if you’re travelling with your car, you’re free to go wherever you please.

We also hold a huge range of themed minicruises, where the onboard entertainment is stepped up a gear to encompass anything from darts to Northern Soul to murder mysteries.

Who goes on minicruises?

Whether you’re travelling alone, in a group or with your family, minicruises provide the ideal short break for everyone. They’re particularly good for larger groups, as the price of travel and accommodation are all rolled into one cost-effective package.

Which minicruise should you take in 2018?

If you’re considering going on a minicruise this year, there are loads of fantastic events taking place to coincide with your trip. Minicruises are a fantastic option for people looking to get a big holiday at a mini price – and if you travel during the midweek, you’ll find the fares are even cheaper than usual.

Holland Minicruise

With its winding canals and picture-perfect cobblestones, Amsterdam is an idyllic destination all year round. But in the summer, the city streets are transformed into an even more colourful destination. Visit between 28 July and 5 August to party along with the raucous celebrations of Gay Pride.
