2018 holiday quiz: Which destination should you visit?
Chamonix

Armed with your camera and a good pair of walking shoes, Chamonix is the perfect destination for getting off the beaten track this year. Start your trip at the Aiguille du Midi for stunning glacier views, then spend your day on an easy hike or taking on the beautiful slopes. If you are planning to ski, you can save on expensive gear hire by taking your own - when you travel on a P&O ferry, you can pack as much as you like for free. Route: Dover to Calais, then an eight-hour drive to the slopes.
Tilburg

The Netherlands is the perfect destination for both families and the young-at-heart. Immerse yourself in nature at the dreamy Efteling Theme Park, see beautiful creatures at the Beekse Bergen Safari Park, and amuse the whole gang with the local museums, specially designed with all ages in mind. Route: Hull to Rotterdam, then one hours' drive to Tilburg.
Limerick

The City of Culture 2014 is sure to become your new go-to city break destination. Visit the weekend Milk Market for live music and Celtic Crafts, take a drive along the stunning Irish coastline, sample a treasure trove of artisanal wares at Lucky Lane, then kick back at the Strand Terrace Bar - all in one day. Route: Liverpool to Dublin, then a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Limerick.
Ypres

With 2018 seeing the 100th anniversary of Armistice, Ypres is a particularly poignant destination this year. Take a ferry, or even one of our minicruises, to view the battlefields and learn about the Great War in the area's many museums. End your trip with a ticket to MESH Theatre's stirring production of Journey's End at The Gunpowder Store, running from 10 October to 12 November.
