From the fall of the mullet to the rise of the selfie stick, it’s fair to say a lot’s happened since the Pride of York made its maiden voyage in 1987. Now, this beloved member of the P&O Ferries fleet is going through some changes of its own. We’ve listened to plenty of valuable feedback from our passengers, and you’ll see some dramatic improvements when you step on board.

We’ve put more than 56,000 labour hours into creating a great travel experience, refurbishing club cabins and introducing a range of new and exciting features.

On-board transformation
Thanks to the Pride of York’s sleek new makeover, passengers are promised a more enjoyable experience. Relax in the newly revamped Lounge and Boulevard Bar or scroll through social media and watch videos in the new WiFi area. If you want to simply sit and take in the view, you can unwind practically anywhere on board.
Refurbished cabins
Nothing can replace a good night’s sleep. From freight drivers who need energy for a day of driving to tourists who want to make the most of the first day, our refurbished cabins provide everyone a comfortable kip. And it’s not just a few that have been made over – all of the cabins have been fully made over, meaning all passengers can enjoy the best-in-class accommodation around.
Passage made simpler
Signs, routes and colour-coding have been refreshed across the ship, so passengers can explore the decks with ease.
Food & drinks
Fresh rotisserie chicken, daily chef specials, healthy salads and beautiful desserts are all being rolled out in our modern new buffet area. Whatever you fancy, you can enjoy it in style.
Brand new Brasserie
Your holiday begins from your very first step on the ferry – and the remodelling of our Brasserie means that your first meal will be one of luxury. More seating areas have been added too, so all passengers can enjoy a delicious dining experience.

We’ve got some fantastic discounts available on board and passengers can now take advantage of an even bigger and better shopping experience.
Freight drivers
For freight customers who continuously rely on our service to get them back on the road, a range of new perks have been introduced. An overnight laundry service will take the hassle out of travelling, and even further discounts are available in shops on board.
