Meet our North Sea Ships

Whether you’re travelling to the Netherlands or Belgium by ferry, you’re guaranteed to have a wonderful journey on one of our North Sea ships. With plenty of entertainment options, comfortable cabins, and delicious food and drink to enjoy, your holiday will begin as soon as you step on board, and won’t end until you arrive back into Hull port.

Here, we share what you can expect from each of our fantastic North Sea ships, so you’ll know what awaits you when you head on board.

The Pride of Hull and the Pride of Rotterdam

If you’re planning a trip to the Netherlands, you’ll be sailing on either the Pride of Hull or the Pride of Rotterdam. These sister ships entered service with P&O Ferries in 2001, and have been carrying passengers between Hull and Europoort (Rotterdam) ever since. Built in Italy, the Pride of Hull and the Pride of Rotterdam are 215m in length and 31.5m in width with the capacity to hold 1360 passengers, and each ship can travel at speeds of up to 22 knots.

The Pride of York and the Pride of Bruges

Heading to Belgium for a break? You’ll be on board the Pride of York or the Pride of Bruges. Originally the Norsun and the Norsea, these sister ships are slightly smaller than the Hull to Rotterdam ships at 179m in length and 25m in width, but they are just as fun to sail on. The ferries were given their new names in 2002 when they were moved to the Hull-Zeebrugge route following a refit, and have been transporting passengers to and from Belgium to the present day. With the capacity to carry 310 cars and 185 freight vehicles, these ships can travel at up to 18 knots and will get you to Zeebrugge port in around 12 hours.

Entertainment on our North Sea ships

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do on board our North Sea ships. Fancy catching up on some of the latest film releases? If you’re on our Hull-Rotterdam route you can sit back and relax in the on board cinema which offers a number of films across two different screens. With a range of great options to choose from, there’s sure to be something for the whole family to enjoy. Alternatively, you might like to have a flutter in the on board casino. Play a range of casino games, including digital roulette and pontoon with a croupier, and see if it’s your lucky day!

Although there’s no cinema on the Pride of York or the Pride of Bruges, there is a casino which includes all of the same great games that the Rotterdam ships have. You’ll also find a Wi-Fi Zone which has plenty of comfy chairs, plug sockets, and great Wi-Fi signal, so you can catch up on emails or upload your holiday snaps to social media!

Bars on our North Sea ships

Relax on deck with a drink as you enjoy the sunset.

The Pride of Hull and the Pride of Rotterdam have a whole range of bars to choose from. For some fun-filled on board entertainment, join our band in the Show Bar where you’ll be treated to a night of music. If you’re travelling on a themed Mini Cruise, this is where you’ll find the acts included in your chosen package too. For a more traditional pub experience, you might prefer our Irish Bar where you can have a drink whilst watching live sports. Alternatively, our Sky Lounge Bar boasts a laidback atmosphere, and you can relax and unwind to the sounds of our onboard pianist. In the summer, the Sun Deck Lobby & Bar is the only place to be – we suggest enjoying your favourite tipple whilst watching the sunset.

On the Pride of York and the Pride of Bruges, all of the focus is on the fantastic Show Bar. Here, you can listen to live music from our onboard band while enjoying your favourite drink, and make your way to the dancefloor when your favourite tunes come on! For a more chilled out crossing, you might prefer to have a beverage in The Lounge while you’re serenaded by our resident musician.

Eating on our North Sea ships

Whether you fancy an a la carte dining experience or prefer a varied buffet, all four of our North Sea ships have an option for you. The Brasserie offers a three-course menu which changes with the seasons, and you can expect fantastic table service, uninterrupted sea views, and a meal to remember. For those who’d like a more casual dining experience, The Kitchen boasts an all-you-can-eat buffet full of everything from curries and seafood for dinner to pancakes and pastries for breakfast. In addition to this, your soft drinks are refillable in The Kitchen, making it a purse-friendly option for those travelling on a budget.

North Sea ship cabins

Why not treat yourself to a luxury State Room?

When you sail on the North Sea you’ll be given a cabin as part of your ticket. Our cabins have been designed to ensure that you get a great night’s sleep, so that you reach your destination feeling refreshed and ready for the day. We offer three different cabin types across our North Sea ships: Standard, Premier, and Club. All cabins include everything you’d expect from a hotel room, such as space to hang your clothes, en-suite facilities, and towels. In addition to this, Premier cabins are more spacious that Standard Cabins, and Club cabins offer extras including hot drink facilities and a TV.

If you’re travelling on the Pride of Hull or the Pride of Rotterdam, you can also choose to upgrade to a brand new State Room. These cabins include everything that the others do, but also have a double bed, armchairs, and a stocked fridge – the perfect choice if you want to add a bit of extra luxury to your trip.

Now that you’ve met our North Sea ships, book your crossing from Hull to either Rotterdam or Zeebrugge today and experience them for yourself as part of your holiday to mainland Europe.
